File:Queen-Ugobeze.jpg

[edit]

I wonder whether you may consider withdrawing your deletion nomination of File:Queen-Ugobeze.jpg. As you may know, the uploader has repeatedly created vanity pages on en.wikipedia, using sockpuppet accounts. The pages have been deleted and the accounts blocked, but it is likely that she will come back again with yet more accounts. In this situation it can be very helpful for there to be an image which the editor keeps putting in the new pages that they create, because I can keep checking whether the image is currently being used in any page, and if so delete the page and block the account that created it. However, if the image is deleted then it's very likely that it will be re-created under a new title, so it isn't possible to watch out for it, and the new spam page may go unnoticed. @JBW: Have you considered watchlisting User:SteinsplitterBot/Previously deleted files? You would be able to monitor for re-upload of the deleted file even if the filename is changed (and watch for any other re-uploaded file as well). In any case, it doesn't make much difference to me either way - if you would like to remove the deletion tag from File:Queen-Ugobeze.jpg, please feel free to do so. I won't object. I didn't know about User:SteinsplitterBot/Previously deleted files. I'll have a look at it. Thanks for pointing it out to me. JBW (talk) 21:41, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
File:1H6K.pdb.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Upload photos at my own work

Dear Marbletan, I have replied to you on each file photos you marked to delete. Most of all the photos are taken by my phone and edited myself, I would like to remain published some that I noted in the reply, and I agree to delete 2 files that I replied to you too, I hope your kind reconsideration, thank you so much.ForeverMemory (talk) 17:31, 13 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

For files that have appeared somewhere on the web before being uploaded here, Wikimedia Commons generally requires evidence of permission for them to be used here (to protect photographers and copyright owners from having their work "stolen" and claimed by others as their own work). For the file that you uploaded in which you were the photographer, you can send permission by following directions given at Commons:Volunteer Response Team.
